 WALTER AND IRENE MUEHLBRONNER SCHOLARSHIP GENERAL INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS

The Professional Skaters Foundation (PSF) was founded to expand the educational opportunities of PSA members through a 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable foundation. The Trustees of the PSF have developed the Walter and Irene Muehlbronner scholarship program for its members through a selection process based on established guidelines and criteria.

Applications for the Professional Skaters Foundation may be obtained from the PSA Headquarters, 3006 Allegro Park SW, Rochester , Minnesota 55902 .

The scholarships are intended for the reimbursement of registration fees to attend PSA education programs. Awards are based on financial need, dedication to coaching, sound character and ethical practices.

Accurate and complete data in support of financial need must be shown in the application. Race, religion, color, creed, sex and ethnic background are not considered in the selection of recipients.

Qualification requirements: The applicant must be a full member in good standing of the Professional Skaters Association. Each applicant must include two letters of recommendation; one from a current club officer, rink manager or supervisor and one from a current member in good standing with the PSA. In addition, an essay outlining your future skating plans must accompany your application.

 The applicant must have been a full PSA member for at least one year and have 20 educational credits or hold a Registered or higher rating in any discipline. The award of scholarships is made by the Trustees of the PSF for attendance at programs that are approved by the board of directors of the Professional Skaters Association.

To be considered for the annual scholarship year, applications MUST BE RECEIVED in the PSA office by January 1 each year. Scholarships are available for PACE, Seminars, Workshops or the International Conference. These scholarships are available for programs in the year in which they are awarded only.  Applicants may re-apply every year.
