A Few Moments with PSA Staff Member…

Carol Rossignol

What do you do at PSA?
Responsible for providing coach Education and Accreditation to members and overseeing the PSA Rating System.

How long have you worked at PSA?
2001 to present (12 years)

How did you become involved with PSA?
Joined PSA to become more educated as a coach – Attended the Boston conference in 1975

Do you have any skating/coaching experience?
Yes, I have been coaching since 1963; I was a Canadian judge for figures, free skating, and dance prior to coaching; I achieved the Canadian gold tests in figures, free skating, dance, and skating skills.

Do/did you play any sports?
Yes, I played a lot of sports – softball, volleyball, basketball, track and field, badminton, tennis, golf, and fencing. I was the provincial ladies foil champion for Saskatchewan.

What do you enjoy doing while not at work?
Traveling internationally, gardening, spending time with my grandson

Where are you from?
I grew up and attended school in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada

Where is your favorite place to go?
I have several favorite places – Monaco, Prague, Paris, and anywhere in the world that I haven’t been to yet.

What is your favorite dessert?
I have two favorites – cheesecake and shortbread cookies

What were you working on before doing this?
Replying to emails and the revised Basic Accreditation exam

 


Jamie Santee

What do you do at PSA?
I am the Social Media Manager & Endorsement Chair

How long have you worked at PSA?
Since September 2007

How did you become involved with PSA?
First as a coach member many years ago then our family moved to Rochester,MN in 2006 when my husband, Jimmie, became the new Executive Director of PSA

Do you have any skating/coaching experience?
Yes, I was a Canadian National Competitor in singles & pairs, toured as a principal/performance director with Disney on Ice for 13 years then began seriously coaching in 1995 when we settled in Chicago.

Do/did you play any sports?
Figure skating was my passion from the start but I also was a dancer, played softball, and was on my high school gymnastics team one year.

What do you enjoy doing while not at work?
Coaching young skaters, reading & hanging out with my family (& as soon as Jim's back is better we are starting our ballroom dancing career!)

Where are you from?
I was born in Hamilton, Ontario but grew up in Montreal

Where is your favorite place to go?
I have been fortunate to have travelled a good portion of the world. Now my favorite place to go is wherever my family is.

What is your favorite dessert?
Fresh raspberries or cookies!

What is your favorite thing to watch?
Any show that makes me laugh :)

What is your favorite form of entertainment?
My 3 children, never dull!

What is your favorite sound?
Deep wind chimes, genuine laughter or complete silence.

If your house was on fire and you could only grab three things, what would they be?
'Things' not people right?! My purse, cell phone & passport

If you could be given any gift, what would it be?
Definitely the gift of time! Ok for real, tea, books & a comfortable chair.

If you could have any animal as a pet, what would it be?
We already do, his name is Harley.

If you were stranded on a desert island and could choose people of 5 professions to come with you, who would you choose?
A chef, comedian, physicist, engineer & the Dalai Llama.

Who was your favorite celebrity growing up?
Wayne Gretsky!

What is something you do that other people find weird?
If I had to name only one…. I type really fast with one hand :/

What were you working on before doing this?
